Sophie

Owner

Sophie, at the age of 15, started off with the privilege of training under the renowned Jean Louis David in Cannes, fate intervened when she crossed paths with her now-husband, Tim Butler, during his music tour. Love blossomed, leading her to Edinburgh within a year.

From the moment Sophie set foot in Edinburgh, she fell in love with the city's charm and quickly secured a fantastic position at Klownz in Stockbridge, where she had the opportunity to work alongside the incredible Derek Preston. However, destiny had further plans for her as she eventually joined the family business in Fife, which marked the birth of the Seafood Restaurant, Butler and CO Deli, and Sophie Butler Hairdressing.

After a successful period running her mobile salon, she took the leap and opened her first shop in 1999. In 2000, the salon moved to a more spacious location in Greyfriars Garden, and in October 2013, they found their current lovely premises on South Street.

Every member of the Sophie Butler team is meticulously chosen by Sophie herself, who maintains high standards and a discerning eye when it comes to selecting her colleagues. The team comprises diverse personalities, ensuring a match for everyone, and all staff members undergo rigorous training to meet the salon's impeccable standards. The pursuit of knowledge and the constant acquisition of new skills is deeply ingrained in the salon's culture.

Above all, the owner's passion for her job shines through. Making a difference in someone's day is her ultimate delight, and she embraces each opportunity to bring joy and transformation to her clients' lives. It is this genuine love for her craft that fuels her drive and infuses the salon with a vibrant spirit of positivity and excellence.
